STAPLER'S!

For this project we firstly had to take apart a few staplers to see how they worked and then try and re-design them in new ways.

The Scissor Stapler

This design was simply for ease as once made it was actually easier to staple than a regular stapler


The Staple-Chair

This chair was primarily design with office workers in mind. Working in a small cubicle with a small desk it is often hard to find space to staple things. But with this new chair the user nedd just lean back or put their hand by their side. Simple.

The Staple-Cow

A must have for all the drummer secretaries. Bored of stapling all those documents, make it fun by making music at the same time

Comes with not one but two drum sticks so you can play on the desk too!


The Roller-Staple

This was a favorite of mine. Although unfortunately I did not have the means to make a Prototype. The idea behind it was a wheel with a weighted piston in the middle which would slide from one side to the other as the wheel went round. The piston would have a thin piece of metal on each end the size of a single staple to punch the staples out. Around the inner of the wheel are two spring loaded staple holders much like a standard stapler but curved. A flaw was uncovered when I realised that the staples would only come out straight unless I made an indented track for the wheel to run along to bend the staples.

The Dryslope Stapler

This design was also flawed and the prototype was destroyed during testing. I Also realised that it was destined to fail from the start as the paper kept getting wet due to the sprinklers on the dryslope.
